High Peak
High Peak DAs are now running sessions at three Libraries – Buxton, Whaley Bridge and New Mills. Also, new sessions have been started at a sheltered housing scheme in Buxton where they have two communal computers. Our survey shows that most people are learning about the internet and search engines. The majority of people attending the sessions are over 56.
You can book in for an hour.

Chesterfield
The project is winding down in Chesterfield after some very successful and much appreciated work. However, we’re pleased to say that, two of the DAs who have been working at Chesterfield Library will be able to continue as volunteers for Derbyshire Libraries. This means the sessions there will continue, usually on a Thursday morning. Sessions must be booked beforehand, and there is a waiting list . The opportunity to volunteer in this role is likely to be made available across Derbyshire Libraries too. Chesterfield DAs have been a strong group and want to carry on being a part of DAIN, even though the project is exiting from the area, and it is great to see they continue to be involved by attending regional and national events, as well as being active on the blog and Moodle forums!
Buxton
A new group of DAs have just completed their training in Buxton – Congratulations! It’s early days but drop-in sessions will soon be starting at Buxton Library. During the training course, a couple of trainees supported a Silver Surfers session in Adult Learners Week, and although only a small group came along, they wanted more and are looking forward to getting support from the new DAs as soon as possible.
The group were pleased to get messages of support and encourgaement from ‘old’ DAs and are already enthusiastically discussing ideas for outreach locally. Lots more to come……..
